Annual program FAQ
Which level do I need to attend the program?
There is no specific level required, only a passion for football and the will to improve.
Where do the games and training sessions take place?
All the training sessions take place at the SIA Center, and most of our teams play in the same region as the SIA Center. Staff members of SIA arrange transport from and to all these different clubs.
When do you know for which team you will play?
If you arrive at our facilities, you will play every morning with all the players from the academy. Based on your age and level, we will also look for a team that suits you the best and in which you can develop yourself in the best way possible.
Which languages do the coaches and other staff members speak?
Most of our coaches and staff members speak English, and all of them are fluent in Spanish. Nevertheless, most of our students are international, so English is spoken most of the time.
Are parents allowed to visit the academy and see the development of their child?
Parents and other family members are welcome at any time. However, we would like to add that the academy is not a hotel, so it is not possible to stay here as part of a holiday.
What kind of programs do you offer at the academy?
At SIA, we offer annual programs, six-month programs, three-month programs, personalized programs, try-outs (usually weekly), and different camps throughout the year.
What are other activities that are organized at the academy?
Most of the players go to school, and afterwards, they train, so there is not a lot of time left for the players. However, during the weekends or if the players have a day off, we usually organize trips to Valencia, the beach or organize teambuilding activities.
What happens if you get injured or get sick at the academy?
The academy employs a physiotherapist, and we have a minor medical clinic at the academy to give our players the best treatment possible. We also have a collaboration with a medical center in Catarroja, where our players can go if they have a severe injury.
What kind of rooms are available for the students?
The students will have a double room or single room (additional fee), with a bathroom, closet and study desk.
Do the students have access to Wi-Fi in their rooms?
There is Wi-Fi available everywhere at the academy.
Which facilities are available at the academy?
Services for soccer: 1 natural grass field, 1 artificial turf, sports equipment, 7 changing rooms, medical clinic, physical therapy room and a gym.
Service for accommodation: study room, video-analysis classroom, restaurant/bar, breakrooms, meeting and conference room, outside pool, teams room (TV, toilet, fridge, bathroom, terrace), student academy player room (toilet, shower room, closet, study desk), laundry service, reception, Wi-Fi, heating and air conditioning
Are the training sessions on natural grass or artificial grass?
We have one artificial turf and one natural grass field, but in general, the games in Spain are played on artificial turf.
What are the options for people with a nutritional disorder?
We adapt our menus to the specific needs of our players, and we make sure they have enough energy for their training sessions/games.
Do you need a visa?
If you come to the SIA academy for more than three months you will need a visa to enter Spain. If this is the case we will help you in the process and make sure you can come to our academy.
How much money should you give your child, or is everything already included in the price?
Everything is included in the price (i.e. meals, accommodation and training). Nevertheless, we would like to note that activities or trips sometimes have additional costs and any other costs outside of the academy are also for the player.
Do you need to get insurance?
Yes, we have an agreement with a Catarroja clinic but it is necessary the medical insurance to cover all costs
What are the academic options if you stay for 10 months?
The first option would be to go to the British High School inXàtiva. Another option is that players who do not go to this school have different classes at the academy (e.g. nutritional, psychology or video analysis). They also get the opportunity to obtain their coaching certificate.
How are academics and football combined?
At SIA, we believe that education is essential and a good balance between football and education is crucial. Therefore, we will create a personalized plan for our players to combine football and academics. In this case, we also try to adapt the schedules of our players to make sure football and education are integrated in the best way possible.
Do you need a different visa if you are also going to study in Spain?
No, there is just one visa for if you stay longer than three months in Spain.
