Video analysis in soccer is a term that has been talked about a lot lately in the sports industry. But are you clear on what it is and what its role is in a soccer academy?
VIDEO ANALYSIS TRAINING PROCESS FOR SIA ACADEMY PLAYERS
At SIA Academy, our goal is that our players are constantly learning and updating themselves in everything related to soccer, such as the implementation of new technologies in the world of sports.
Therefore, from the Video Analysis Department of Soccer Inter-Action, we are continuously working individually with the player, analyzing and contextualizing all phases of the game to improve it.
Contact with the player First of all, once the player joins SIA Academy, the members of the Video Analysis Department meet with him, with the objective of asking him to tell us if he has any knowledge of the new technologies that are appearing in the sport and if he has previously had any experience or has used any software specialized in soccer.
Player Contextualization
Through our department, we take care of the recording and management of all the audiovisual content of each player belonging to SIA Academy, both training and matches, whether friendly or competition. In our facilities, we have IP cameras strategically located in each of the towers surrounding our fields, obtaining a tactical view of everything that happens on the field.
Possessing all the player's content in the different contexts of the game helps us to have a higher probability of detecting and correcting patterns of the player we are working with.
Way of working. Detection of erroneous patterns with the player for subsequent improvement.
Let's take the example of a player who has very good technical qualities, and who, at a tactical level is a good player, but we find that, repeatedly, he commits turnovers.
From there, the SIA Academy coaches detect this behavior of the player and transfer this information to the Video Analysis Department so that we can extract all the moments of the player where this pattern is repeated.
After extracting this content from the player, meeting with the coaches and observing the training sessions and games, we detected that there is an error in the offensive surveillance and in the body profile. Therefore, the lack of knowledge of this space before receiving the ball, often causes the player to lose the ball.
We take care of making individual videos of the player where this behavior appears and once all this is extracted, we aim to sit down with the player to observe these situations and assimilate that there are patterns to improve. Therefore, the more content we can have recorded about the player, the higher the percentage of detecting such behaviors.
Once this whole process of vision and assimilation by the player is completed, we aim to work individually with the player to improve these behaviors, such as the implementation of training tasks adapted to this pattern.
At the end of the week, the Video Analysis Department returns to extract all the content to analyze and detect if after the tasks adapted for individual improvement, there is a positive variation in relation to this behavior, both in training and in the match.
Player participation in the improvement process
At SIA Academy, we believe and we are convinced that the player has to assimilate that he is the main protagonist in the improvement process. Therefore, from the Department we teach all our players to use specialized soccer software so that in the short term they know how to analyze themselves individually, and in the long term they are just as capable as an analyst to perform a complete analysis of a match, whether it is analysis of their own team or of the rival team.
This whole process of learning and updating of new technologies is carried out constantly, since every week the players have a video analysis class.
Constant updatingFrom our high performance center, we know that the world of analysis is evolving and specializing more and more in soccer, being necessary a constant updating in all processes and programs.
For this reason, the members of the Department attend and take part in analysis courses at a professional level. All this with the aim of training our players to an optimal level and offering them a first class service.
